Retained project example — confirmation pending
The homeowner had noticed paint peeling on the soffits and what looked like wasp entry points under the eaves. One section of soffit had visibly rotted through.
Original wood soffit and fascia — approximately 40 years old. Three fascia boards had rotted through. Soffit ventilation was blocked in multiple bays, causing heat and moisture buildup in the attic. Two active wasp nests found in soffit cavities.
Scope considerations
Wood soffit and fascia is the single most common call we get in Grimsby — the lake moisture is hard on painted wood, and once it starts going it goes quickly. The aluminum replacement is virtually maintenance-free and gives the roofline a clean, consistent look that the original 1985 wood never quite achieved. The homeowners chose to do the upper gable siding at the same time, which was a smart call — the colour match would have been nearly impossible to do a year later.
